Acceptance of terms
These terms are between you and [LEGAL/OPERATOR NAME] ("HearthStack," "we," or "us"). By creating or using an account or using the service, you agree to these terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use HearthStack.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create or administer a HearthStack household as an adult account holder. Household creation and management are adult-controlled. Adult sign-in invitations are not for minors. HearthStack is not directed to children.
In Kids, a household owner can create an adult-managed child profile without a login and optionally enable restricted child sign-in through an invitation linked to that existing child household member. Linking sign-in does not create a separate adult household member. Child access is limited to the Kids experience and information explicitly made available to that child. Restricted child accounts cannot create or own a household, obtain adult permissions, administer household membership, or access billing.
An adult can open supervised Kid View while remaining signed in as the adult. This does not create or require a child sign-in and does not give the child unrestricted access to the adult application.
Accounts
Provide accurate account information and keep your sign-in credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account and for notifying us at [PRIVACY/SUPPORT EMAIL] if you suspect unauthorized access. Do not share credentials as a substitute for inviting another eligible adult.
Households and members
A household may contain multiple members. Owners manage adult sign-in invitations, currently through links they share themselves; members represented without login cannot access the service directly. Invite only people you trust. Authorized account holders may see, add, or change shared household content according to available app permissions. Task lists and HearthSignals offer narrower audiences; household ownership alone does not override every private or selected audience. You are responsible for the content you enter and the audiences you choose, including information about managed minors.
User content
You and other contributors retain your respective rights in content you provide, including household records, notes and photos. You grant HearthStack a limited, non-exclusive right to host, store, process, display and transmit that content as needed to operate the service and make it available to authorized household members. This does not transfer ownership of household content to us. Make sure you have the right to provide and share what you add; other authorized members may also edit shared content under app permissions.
Acceptable use
Do not use HearthStack unlawfully; infringe others’ rights; harass or abuse other people; attempt unauthorized access to accounts or household records; introduce malware; disrupt the service; or scrape or automate access in a way that abuses or burdens it.
HearthStack Money disclaimer
HearthStack records and organizes financial information entered or imported by household account holders and may display calculations based on those entries. HearthStack is not a bank, financial institution, or accounting firm. It does not hold funds, synchronize bank accounts, or provide financial, tax, investment, accounting, or legal advice. Check entries and calculations against your own records before relying on them for decisions.
Subscription plans and billing
HearthStack currently offers HearthStack Free, an ongoing free plan, and HearthStack Household, a paid subscription plan with monthly and annual billing options. Household includes higher or no-plan limits for core modules and expansion modules such as Kids; Kids is not purchased separately. Current plan features and pricing are shown on the Pricing page. Paid subscriptions can be purchased through HearthStack when billing is available for the deployment. No paid subscription or charge arises simply from using the current signup flow.
For paid subscriptions, we will provide checkout details, payment method, renewal terms, applicable taxes, cancellation instructions and any refund terms before you agree to pay. Payment processing is handled by a third-party payment processor. We will not charge you or begin an automatically renewing subscription without a separate activation and disclosure of its terms. You are responsible for charges you authorize.
See the Pricing page for published plan details and limits.
Free plan and usage limits
HearthStack Free provides access to Money, Shopping, Tasks, and HearthSignal without requiring payment or a trial, subject to published scale limits, including limits on household members and certain records. Where plan limits are implemented, we may enforce reasonable published limits and explain how to continue using the service if a limit is reached. Household raises those limits as described on the Pricing page; it is not intended to remove paid benefits without notice. Changes to a paid plan’s material benefits will be communicated in advance where practicable, subject to applicable law and the terms presented at purchase.
See the Pricing page for published plan details and limits.
Trials and promotional offers
If we make a trial or promotion available, its eligibility, start and end, any conversion to a paid plan, and any payment authorization will be shown before activation.
Cancellation
Household owners can open Billing and choose Manage subscription to access the payment provider’s subscription management, including cancellation. Cancellation instructions, when cancellation takes effect, and any applicable refund rules are provided as part of the paid offer. You may stop using the service at any time; stopping use alone does not automatically erase shared household records. For account-closure requests, contact [PRIVACY/SUPPORT EMAIL].
Service changes and availability
We may update, improve or discontinue features as the service evolves. Interruptions may occur, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or a particular uptime level. We will use reasonable efforts to give advance notice of material changes that adversely affect active paid benefits, unless urgent security, legal, or operational circumstances prevent it.
Intellectual property
The service, its software, branding and design are owned by HearthStack or its licensors. Subject to these terms, you may access and use the service for your household’s purposes. This does not give you ownership of the service or change your rights in your own content.
Feedback
If you choose to send feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve HearthStack without an obligation to pay you. Do not include confidential or sensitive household details in feedback unless they are necessary to explain a support request.
Third-party services
HearthStack uses Supabase to provide authentication, database, storage and server-side functions. Optional voice transcription uses xAI, and barcode product lookup uses Open Food Facts. Third-party features or external product information may be unavailable or inaccurate; use them with appropriate judgment. The Privacy Policy explains the related information flows. Subscription payments are handled by a third-party payment processor.
Termination
We may suspend or end access for serious or repeated breaches of these terms, unlawful activity, security risks, or when required by law. Where reasonable, we will provide notice and an opportunity to address the issue, but immediate action may be needed to protect the service or others. If your access ends, shared household records may remain accessible to other authorized members, subject to the Privacy Policy and applicable law. To request account closure, contact [PRIVACY/SUPPORT EMAIL].
Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by applicable law, HearthStack is provided on an as-available basis without warranties that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for a particular household decision. We do not guarantee the accuracy of information entered by users or obtained through third-party product lookup or transcription. These disclaimers do not exclude warranties or rights that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, neither you nor HearthStack is liable to the other for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service. To the same extent, our total liability for a claim arising from these terms or the service will not exceed the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or $100 if you paid nothing. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law, and does not limit liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or other liability that cannot legally be limited.
Responsibility for misuse
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to be responsible for third-party claims resulting from your unlawful use of the service, your infringement of another person’s rights, or content you provide in violation of these terms, including reasonable related costs. This does not make you responsible for claims caused by our own conduct.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING STATE/JURISDICTION], without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable consumer law requires otherwise.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. We will post the revised terms and effective date and give appropriate notice of material changes. Changes will apply prospectively; if you do not agree to revised terms, stop using the service and contact us about your account. Paid-plan changes will also be subject to the terms presented at purchase and applicable law.
Questions about these terms or account requests can be sent to [LEGAL/OPERATOR NAME] at [PRIVACY/SUPPORT EMAIL].
